My name is Leslie (Tinker) Thomas, and I am honored to be a candidate for Osage Nation Congress.  I am a member of the Mottled Eagle Clan, Sky Division, and named Xu-tha Doe, “Looking at Eagle.”   “We, the Osage people, deserve representation at the highest level by those who want the very best for our Nation. We deserve a leader who will bring fresh, innovative ideas to help our Nation grow. I am prepared for that responsibility, and I will proudly serve every Osage member.”  

I hold a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and a master’s in business management.   My 30 years of experience in banking, finance, and leadership, includes Loan Review, Real Estate Appraising, Auditing, Underwriting, IT/Asset Management, Training and Development, REO, and Communications/Change Management.   As Training and Development Manager for Osage Casinos and the Muscogee Creek Nation, I worked to strengthen leadership, workforce development, and training programs.  

I have volunteered and served on nonprofit boards and fund allocation committees, working alongside business, finance, and community leaders. My experience collaborating with everyone from executives to union workers to individuals experiencing homelessness has strengthened my ability to listen, communicate, and work effectively with diverse groups.

 I taught elementary through college, including computer courses at correctional centers in Hominy and Turley. 

 My faith as a devoted Christian guides me to lead with integrity, compassion, and a servant’s heart. 

My passion is and has always been in helping others.
